This mill is on the River Misbourne. At Domesday, there were three mills in the manor of Chalfont St Giles, but by 1814 there were only two. Already disused by the 1930s, with some machinery removed, the mill buildings were located in a picturesque setting in the local landscape. The buildings comprised an old black timbered barn with a tiled roof adjoining a timbered and yellow-washed mill cottage and a pink brick mill. Standing beside the mill was a chimney shaft, surviving from the days when the mill was driven by steam.
